As I am typing this at 13:49 on wednesday 5th march, i am mostly still in shock. I got an Arts Council Grant to complete my novel. Additionally PA funding to support me through the project. I think I have lost my mind a little.

I have already shared this new on Youtube and I’m not gonna lie, I forgot I never actually wrote this post! It’s been a pretty hectic summer with my research project, all the markets I have done, and other artist work related hell along with my personal life and health.

I was awarded an Arts Council England Grant to complete my novel. I got the Developing Your Creative Practise grant, so the main aim overall is to develop my writing practise so I can go on to write more books (one day, hopefully) I have so many ideas and some I have been in progress of creating, but there’s this one novel I’ve nearly finished but felt a wall with for a long time and now with the funding I can go and pay for services to provide feedback and cover courses and webinars.

So far I have used some of the grant money to pay my support worker on this project who helped me apply for the grant initially, I’ve been to 3 webinars in the summer about literary agents and what to do when submitting, and bought Scrivener!

I will be starting the project from the end of August 2025, thought my research project has had delays so will overlap more than I had wanted… but we keep moving anyway. Some other general updates:

I am looking at starting an email list since socials are very risky these days particularly for the kind of work I make so if you want to make sure you keep up to date with me and my work be sure to sign up, I’ll make another post when that’s all set up with how you can sign on.

I will be away on holiday from 22nd September for 10 days and then it’s my birthday so I plan to now work during those couple of weeks besides writing and maybe making/editing videos.

Not a majorly long update but I wanted to inform you all of what’s going on! I really don’t have a tonne of time or energy at the moment and need to prioritise a big video I’m working on at the moment and my research project to get them done in time! But at the same time I didn’t want to leave you out of the loop.
