The Pride Letters in TV and Films I’ve covered on my Channel

It has been along old year lads, so forgive the reasonably low effort post but a mixture of promoting my own work (my youtube videos) and promoting LGBTQ+ representation in TV shows and Films.

Lesbian

Girls like Girls | Coley, 17, from rural Oregon, navigates intimacy after her mother’s passing. Meeting Sonya sparks new feelings, but self-doubt hinders their connection. Sonya, unfamiliar with dating girls, is uncertain. They learn to embrace emotions.

Heartstopper | Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, one day are made to sit together in class. Their friendship becomes something more for Charlie, but he does not believe he has a chance. The Lesbian rep in this is Tara, and later in the show, Imogen.

Heartbreak High | A fresh look at Hartley High over 20 years on. With her new friends – outsiders Quinni and Darren – Amerie must repair her reputation, while navigating love, sex, and heartbreak. The Lesbian rep in this is Sasha and Jojo.

Bridgerton | The eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family look for love and happiness in London high society. The Lesbian rep in this is Francesca and Michaela.

Xo Kitty | A new love story unfolds when teen matchmaker Kitty reunites with her long-distance boyfriend at the same boarding school attended by her late mother. The Lesbian rep is Yuri, Julianna, and possibly Praveena.

Happiest Season | A holiday romantic comedy that captures the range of emotions tied to wanting your family’s acceptance, being true to yourself, and trying not to ruin Christmas. The Lesbian rep in this is Abby, Harper and Riley.

Life is Strange | An awkward photography student named Max Caulfield discovers her ability to rewind time and reunites with her estranged best friend Chloe Price to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a local girl. The Lesbian rep in this is Steph, possibly Chloe, Amanda from Double Exposure.

Yellowjackets | A wildly-talented girls’-high-school soccer team become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Canadian wilderness. The Lesbian rep in this is most of the main cast of girls, but canonically Van and Tai, also adult Tai’s wife.

Kaos | As discord reigns on Mount Olympus and almighty Zeus spirals into paranoia, three mortals are destined to reshape the future of humankind. The Lesbian rep in this is the Furies.

Gay

Sex Education | A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex-therapy clinic at school. The Gay rep in this is Eric, Anwar and Rahim.

Off Campus| A college-set romantic drama chronicling the unexpected love story between a music student and the university’s star hockey player, exploring themes of love and the complexities of adulthood through deep friendships and enduring bonds. The Gay rep in this is Dexter.

Devil Wears Prada 2 | Andy Sachs reunites with Miranda Priestly as they navigate their careers amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. The Gay rep in this is Nigel and Charlie.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair | Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party. The Gay rep in this is Stevie and his husband.

Xo Kitty | A new love story unfolds when teen matchmaker Kitty reunites with her long-distance boyfriend at the same boarding school attended by her late mother. The Gay rep in this is Q, Jin and Florian.

Film Club | Two movie enthusiasts, Noa and Evie, share a weekly film club where their unspoken feelings for each other grow. When Noa decides to move away for work, Evie has a limited time to confess her love before potentially losing him forever. The Gay rep in this is Kamran.

Heated Rivalry | Two rival hockey stars at the top of their game face an unexpected challenge when they develop feelings for each other, complicating their careers and the sport’s expectations. The Gay rep in this is Shane.

Dawson’s Creek | In a rapidly changing world, four teenagers come of age in a small Massachusetts coastal town. The Gay rep in this is Jack and his numerous romantic interests.

Life is Strange 2 | Two brothers try to flee the country after a recent tragedy changes their lives forever. The Gay rep in this is Jake and Penny.

Yellowjackets | A wildly-talented girls’-high-school soccer team become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Canadian wilderness. The Ga rep in this is Coach Ben.

Skins | The messy lives, loves, delirious highs and inevitable lows of raucous teenage friends in Bristol. The Gay rep in this is Maxxie.

Bisexual

Sex Education | A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex-therapy clinic at school. The Bi (or Bi+) rep in this is Adam, Ola, Lily.

Bridgerton | The eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family look for love and happiness in London high society. The Bi rep in this is Benedict.

Xo Kitty | A new love story unfolds when teen matchmaker Kitty reunites with her long-distance boyfriend at the same boarding school attended by her late mother. The Bi rep in this is Kitty.

The rep in this is Max, Sean from LiS2, possibly Chloe, Alex from LiS True Colors, Vihn in Double Exposure.

Only Murders in the Building | Charles, Oliver and Mabel, three eccentric neighbors, find purpose and chaos in solving murders that hit close to home through their true-crime podcast, turning their New York apartment building into a playground of mystery and mischief. The Bi rep in this is Mabel.

Yellowjackets | A wildly-talented girls’-high-school soccer team become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Canadian wilderness. The Bi rep is most of the main cast but canonically Shauna and Misty.

Kaos | As discord reigns on Mount Olympus and almighty Zeus spirals into paranoia, three mortals are destined to reshape the future of humankind. The Bi rep in this is Dionysus, but also most of the Greek Gods were bi anyway.

Skins | The messy lives, loves, delirious highs and inevitable lows of raucous teenage friends in Bristol. The Bi rep in this is Tony, vaguely Cassie, and later Naomi and Frankie, vaguely Mini.

Transgender

Alice in Borderland | Arisu – a listless, jobless and video-game-obsessed young man – suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive. The Trans rep in this is Kuina.

Squid Game | Hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children’s games. A tempting prize awaits, but with deadly high stakes. The Trans rep in this is Hyun-ju.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure | When Max Caulfield finds her friend Safi dead, she tears open the way to a parallel timeline. Here, Safi is still alive, and still in danger. With her new power to shift between timelines, Max tries to solve and prevent the same murder. The Trans rep in this is Gwen.

Kaos | As discord reigns on Mount Olympus and almighty Zeus spirals into paranoia, three mortals are destined to reshape the future of humankind. The trans rep in this is Caeneus.

Sex Education | A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex-therapy clinic at school. The Trans rep doesn’t really come in until the final season where they cast a bunch of trans actors, mainly Abbi and Roman.

Scary Movie 6 | Two friends find themselves caught up in mayhem involving killers, monsters and supernatural creatures once again. The Trans rep in this is Jess.

Nonbinary

Off Campus | A college-set romantic drama chronicling the unexpected love story between a music student and the university’s star hockey player, exploring themes of love and the complexities of adulthood through deep friendships and enduring bonds. The Nonbinary rep in this is Jules.

Heartstopper | Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, one day are made to sit together in class. Their friendship becomes something more for Charlie, but he does not believe he has a chance. The Nonbinary rep in this is Darcy later into the show.

Sex Education | A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex-therapy clinic at school. The Nonbinary rep in this is mainly Cal, but there was also a side character.

Kaos | As discord reigns on Mount Olympus and almighty Zeus spirals into paranoia, three mortals are destined to reshape the future of humankind. The Nonbinary rep in this is the Fates.

Scary Movie 6 | Two friends find themselves caught up in mayhem involving killers, monsters and supernatural creatures once again. The Nonbinary rep in this is Dei.

Asexual

Sex Education | A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex-therapy clinic at school. The Asexual rep in this was mainly O in season 4, but there was also a short side plot in an earlier season.

Thunderbolts | After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes must go on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. The rep in this is Yelena.
