I have an exciting announcement! #ad
I’m working with a small queer streaming platform called Queer Scenes who are still building their catalogue of films and TV shows.
For transparency, I am not paying for the service, and not being paid to promote, but I am able to access the paid for catalogue for free so I can watch queer media and bring you videos about them!
And in return I am promoting the platform and I have a sign up link for you to use so they can track how many people sign up because of me!
There are some great and hard to access titles on the platform already (such as Imagine Me And You, Leviticus and Girls Like Girls !! Finally!) but they are continuing to build their catalogue and are interesting in titles from around the world. There’s also a bisexual dating show I’d heard about based in Korea called Stand Bi Me which I am verrrrrrry interested in checking out on the platform!
I’ve also been helping with some suggestions of TV shows and films (and letting them know where I’ve been able to access them so they can find them for the platform) and this is something they encourage members to do too! Queer Scenes is a community built by people who want to support the growth of queer content. They are looking for subscribers who not only watch the content, but also contribute so that they can bring more and more movies, series and releases to the platform. Which I think is great!
They also encourage users to comment on the titles available on the site and participate in the main Telegram channel to share opinions about the releases, news and suggestions. I’ve left a couple of comments on some films I’ve watched so far… see if you can find me.
I’ve never had any true sponsorships, partnerships, or paid work but I had always planned to do it in a way that was authentic to myself and my content.
I’m always complaining about how difficult it is to find or access queer media, so this collaboration just made so much sense to me 🙂 This should also mean people in different countries who wouldn’t normally be able to have access to certain shows due to licensing, should be able to access a range of shows and films from around the world which might be more difficult to do or even impossible without Queer Scenes.
They have captions on all the videos (at least in English) screenshots also work which is a small miracle when you’re a creator, essayist, or uni student because it’s a bit of a pain trying to get screenshots for work direct from a video or streaming platform and even from a DVD.
There is a free tier but there isn’t a lot on it, but it’s worth signing up to check it out. You can see all the titles available and more are being uploaded regularly. And if you wanted to check out a few films or shows, you could always dip into the paid membership for a month!
I hope you check out the platform and love it
